McGuire Runner-Up in 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial' - July 21, 2008

The Josh McGuire Racing team took their own #41 C.J. Rayburn chassis to the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky over the July 18-19 weekend for a pair of Dirt Late Model events. On Friday night, Richmond played host to a $2,000 to win unsanctioned show. Josh McGuire was leading his heat race until suffering rocker arm problems on the last lap. After starting at the tail end of the feature, Josh made only a couple of circuits and wound up twenty-fourth in the final rundown.

Things went much smoother for the Grayson, Kentucky driver on Saturday, July 19 at the Kentucky speedplant. The O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series invaded Richmond and a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs in the 21st annual running of the 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial.' Josh won his competitive heat race and later rolled off from the front row for the feature event. Following the drop of the green flag, Josh paced the field for the first two circuits before being overtaken on lap three. He hung around the front of the stout field and at the completion of the 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial,' Josh found himself credited with a strong runner-up performance to winner Victor Lee. McGuire Competes in Portsmouth Doubleheader! - July 7, 2008

Josh McGuire and the Stephens Motorsports team were in action over the 4th of July holiday weekend at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) sanctioned two high-profile events on Saturday and Sunday, July 5-6 at PRP. In the $10,000 to win 'Pepsi 75' on Saturday night, Josh was ninth fastest in qualifying and later won his heat race behind the wheel of his #34 entry. After starting from the outside of the front row for the 75-lap main event, Josh sported a great racecar, but unfortunately suffered mechanical woes that led to a twelfth place performance in the 'Pepsi 75.'

Due to the mechanical problems with the #34 car on Saturday, Josh wheeled Tim Hall's #11 car in the Sunday finale at Portsmouth. The Grayson, Kentucky native rallied to finish fifth in his heat race and advanced to the $5,000 to win 'Independence Day 50' by virtue of his second place effort in the B-Main. After starting nineteenth on the grid for the 50-lapper, Josh was able to gain seven positions en route to another twelfth place finish.
