(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) After a weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, Josh McGuire traveled to the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia and the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio over the busy Labor Day holiday weekend. On Saturday, September 1 at Tyler County, Josh had high hopes of doing well in the 39th Annual 'Hillbilly 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. However, as he was sitting in the lineup shoot prior to time trials for the $25,000 to win event, Josh suffered a broken camshaft, which ended his night prematurely.

The Ashland, Kentucky native then drove Tim Hall's #11m machine on Sunday, September 2 at Portsmouth. After qualifying fifth quickest in Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) qualifying, Josh ran second in his competitive heat race. Following an eighth place performance in the dash, he then rolled off from the outside of the fourth row for the $10,000 to win A-Main. Josh advanced up to the third spot in the early stages of the 75-lap feature event, but was forced to pull off the track with overheating problems while in the third position. He wound up a disappointing nineteenth in the final rundown of the race last Sunday evening at PRP. The Josh McGuire Racing team is now set to make the journey to the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 37th Annual 'World 100.' The prestigious event will take place this weekend at the "Big E" and a $40,000 top prize is up for grabs. Qualifying and non-qualifiers races are scheduled for Friday, September 7 at the 1/2-mile, high-banked dirt oval, while the heat races, consolation events, and 100-lap 'World 100' are all slated for Saturday evening. Josh will be looking to make his first career start in the race known as the "Granddaddy of Them All."
