(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire invaded the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky over the weekend for the 25th running of the 'North/South 100.' With 86 cars in attendance for the annual mega-event, Josh timed his #41 Rayburn machine in fifty-first fastest in qualifying on Friday night, August 10. Unfortunately for the Ashland, Kentucky native, Josh was not able to advance to the $50,000 to win A-Main on Saturday evening after finishing eighth in his heat race and thirteenth in his consolation event. You can view complete results from this year's version of the 'North/South 100,' which was won by Jimmy Owens, online at www.florencespeedway.com.
Josh and his #41 team are set to travel to the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana this coming weekend for the 28th Annual 'Jackson 100.' On Friday night, August 17, an unsanctioned $2,500 to win show will be held at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked oval. The stakes will be much higher on Saturday evening, August 18, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolls into town to sanction the prestigious 'Jackson 100.' The 100-lap feature event on Saturday, which will be taped by the SPEED Channel cameras for broadcast later in the year, will pay $15,000 to the winner!
