(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing team, with Josh McGuire behind the wheel of their #41 C.J. Rayburn machine, recently wrapped up the 2007 version of the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series. Josh wound up fourth in the final point standings for the two-week series behind champion Chris Madden, Dennis Franklin, and Brandon Kinzer, as he amassed three Top Fives and five Top Tens on the circuit this season. His best performance came on July 20 at the Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia when Josh recorded an impressive runner-up finish to winner Chris Madden in the $3,500 to win A-Main.

The Ashland, Kentucky native was very busy in the final week with the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series from July 23-28, as six Dirt Late Model events were scheduled. However, Mother Nature, who wreaked havoc throughout the series, reared her ugly head on two different occasions. Below are the official finishes for the #41 team last week in O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series action. "It was a lot of fun racing with the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series over the past couple of weeks," commented McGuire today. "We started off really well, but I think the driver, the crew, and the car all got tired by the end of the series. It was still a wonderful experience and I got a lot of track time at places where I had never raced before. We will work hard here in the shop this week and get ready for Elkins and 201 this coming weekend!"

Josh and his #41 team tentatively have a pair of Dirt Late Model events on their weekend schedule. On Friday, August 3, the Independent Racing Series (IRS) will sanction a $5,000 to win event at the Elkins Speedway in Elkins, West Virginia. The action will then turn to the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday evening for a $5,000 to win unsanctioned show.
