(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and the Josh McGuire Racing team recently wrapped up week one of the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series schedule, as they competed in events in Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Overall, Josh accumulated two Top Five finishes and a trio of Top Ten efforts in the four feature events that escaped the grasp of Mother Nature. Josh's best performance came on Friday night, July 20 at the Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia. The Ashland, Kentucky native posted the second fastest lap in qualifying and later led lap one of the $3,500 to win A-Main. Eventual winner Chris Madden overtook Josh on the second circuit, but Josh still held on for a stellar runner-up finish.

Josh currently finds himself third in the latest version of the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series point standings behind leader Chris Madden and second place Dennis Franklin. The third year series will hold six Dirt Late Model events this coming week in Tennessee and North Carolina. The July 19 show at Tri-County was rained out prior to the feature event and will now be held on Wednesday, July 25. Josh is slated to roll off from the outside of the front row when the field goes to green for the $3,500 to win show on Wednesday evening. Below is the schedule for the second and final week of the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series campaign, which kicks off tonight, July 23 at the Duck River Speedway in Wheel, Tennessee.
