(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing team invaded the Buckeye State of Ohio over the weekend for a pair of Dirt Late Model events. On Friday night, July 13, Josh McGuire was in action at the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio for a $5,000 to win Independent Racing Series (IRS) show. Josh finished second in his competitive heat race to earn a coveted starting spot in the A-Main. Despite an incident in the feature event that sent him to the tail of the field, Josh rebounded nicely to earn a fourth place performance behind winner Steve Francis, Tim Dohm, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. You can view complete results from this race online at www.irsracing.net!

On Saturday evening, July 14, the action turned to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a $2,000 to win show. Josh laid down the quickest lap in qualifying and later finished fifth in the dash. After rolling off from the inside of the third row for the A-Main, the Ashland, Kentucky native was able to get by three cars en route to a runner-up finish behind winner Audie Swartz. Josh and his #41 team are getting geared up for the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series, which starts tonight, July 16 at the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia! In its third year of existence, the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series will sanction ten events at ten different venues in a span of only thirteen days. If all goes well, Josh plans to compete full-time on the tour over the next two weeks. Below is the upcoming schedule:
