(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing team invaded the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio and the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky over the weekend and earned a victory and a third place performance. At Skyline on Friday night, July 6, Josh McGuire won his heat race before taking home the $2,000 top prize in the 'Topless 40' over Steve Shaver, Tim Dohm, Chris Garnes, and Mike Balzano. The Ashland, Kentucky native ran up front through the early stages of the race before taking the lead from Shaver with sixteen laps remaining. The win was Josh's sixth of the 2007 racing season and his second at the Buckeye State oval.

On Saturday evening, the action turned to Richmond for an unsanctioned $2,000 to win event. After setting fast time in qualifying, Josh ran fourth in the dash to earn the outside second row starting position for the A-Main. His #41 C.J. Rayburn chassis was strong during the course of the feature, as he wound up third behind winner Dennis Roberson and runner-up Jerry Rice.

"It was a good weekend for us, as our car ran great at both Skyline and Richmond," quoted McGuire earlier in the week. "Skyline has been really good to us over the past year or so and I really like racing at that place. I would have loved to have backed up our Topless 40 win with another one at Richmond on Saturday, but we couldn't quite get it done. I think our car was fast enough to win the race if we were out front, but it wasn't fast enough to pass the two cars ahead of us."

Josh and his #41 team are set to travel to a pair of familiar Buckeye State venues this coming weekend. The Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio will play host to a $5,000 to win Independent Racing Series (IRS) show on Friday evening, July 13. The Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will then be the track of choice on Saturday night, as a $2,000 top prize is up for grabs. You can learn more about both of these races online at www.irsracing.net and www.portsraceway.com.

The #41 team will then take Sunday off in preparation for the upcoming O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series, which will kick off Monday, July 16 at the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia. The competitive series boasts a schedule of ten races in a matter of only thirteen days with shows in Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. More information on the series will be made available in next week's press release!
